Fitness Therapy For The Heart

2007 - 2008 Physical Education Theme

This school year's theme for our physical education classes is based on a song by George Strait, "Living Well". " There is a difference between living and living well; you can't have it all by yourself; you must share it with someone else; that's the difference between living and living well". We are going to share our desire and enthusiasm for developing and maintaining an active life style with our students so that they to will develop a positive attitude towards being  physically  active.  Physical exercise can be of any nature: taking a walk, riding a bike, throwing a ball around, bowling, etc. Physical exercise should be an activity that is fun for the individual to participate in, not something that seems to be a chore. Our goal is to get our students up off the couch and out the door in their spare time.

Coach's Learning Creed

With a positive attitude, I will believe in myself and my abilities to become successful.  I will not dwell on things that I might not be able to control, but instead focus on my strengths and work on improving my weaknesses.  Today, I will listen and think on my own, for once this day is over it will exist no more.

Physical Education Rules

1. Always be physically and mentally prepared.

2. Always be safe.

3. Always be respectful of other students, the equipment and yourself.

4. No tennis shoes - no participation.

Grades

Grades will be based on following directions, participation and sportsmanship. Skill achievement is also important but everyone has different ability levels and should not be graded in relation to other students. I feel that the amount of  effort that one puts forward while participating is more important at this age.

90 - 100%

Follows all directions with no reminders, always eager and willing to participate in all the activities, is in control of their own actions, helpful, and a team player.

80 - 90%

Follows all directions with only one reminder, fully participates, able to control temper and handle disappointments.

70 - 80 %

Reminded of directions two or more times, participates only with coaxing from the teacher and is unable to handle temper on his own.
