We like to use take-home readers with our 1^st grade students and our 2^nd grade students when needed.  These books will come home with your child during the week in a nylon bag with their name on it.  Please read this book to/with your child.  We may send the same book home several times – this will help build confidence in your child as they become more fluent and comfortable with the book.  Let this become a family task.  Students can read to older or younger siblings as the week goes on and they become more confident.

Please remember a few things about our take-home readers:

·       They are not cheap, so please take care of them.

·       Return them each day.  We also read them during class.

·       Always store them in the bag we provide – it helps keep them protected.

·       Please read the books with your child.  Reading with your child helps them immensely.
