I grew up in East Texas in Athens, but finished my last two years of school in Wylie and graduated from Wylie High School.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. I received my Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
This is my fourth year as Principal of WHS. I enjoy the challenges and adventures that each year presents, and the 2019-20 school year will be no different. I am looking forward to a great year!
I have been in education since 2003, serving as a teacher, coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal before arriving in Whitewright. I am beginning my eighth year as an administrator and seventeenth year in education this year. Prior to my arrival in Whitewright, I served as Principal of Community High School for three years. I was the Assistant Principal at Crandall High School for one year before arriving at Community.
I have been married since August 11, 2007 to my wife, Erin. I have four children, of which three attend Whitewright Elementary this year. Luke is in 5th grade, Cheyenne is in 2nd grade, and Hunter is starting Pre-K this year. I also have a junior in high school that attends Denison High.
I enjoy reading science fiction novels and motivational books when I am not playing with my kids or battling online in League of Legends!
