Who is Mrs. Capehart?

Who is Mrs. Capehart?

For those who have been here the last two years, I am Miss Moore but have recently gone through a MAJOR life change! I got to marry the love of my life, Chasen, in July 2017!! We live in Bonham, Texas with our cat, Daisy. This will be my 3rd “official” year to teach and also my 3rd year at Whitewright ISD. Along with Music, I teach Art, Show Choir and Gifted/Talented. At the High School, I am an Assistant Band Director and the Winterguard Director.

I am a proud graduate of Denison High School, Class of 2010, and completed my Bachelors of Music Education (Instrumental), with honors, at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in December 2014. I plan to further my education by pursuing my Masters in Music Education within the next few years.

I am certified as a Classroom Teacher, Music EC-12 in Texas and also an Instrumental/General Music PK-12 Teacher in Oklahoma. I student taught in Sherman ISD with the Sherman High School and Piner Middle School Bands and after graduation worked for Bells ISD, Bonham ISD as Denison ISD as a substitute teacher. I also worked for Bells ISD, Durant ISD, and Kingston ISD as a private lessons teacher during my undergraduate.

I have memberships in the following organizations;

  • Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB)
  • National Association for Music Educators (NAfME)
  • Life Member, Eta Nu Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity

During my “spare” time, I play with the Austin College Wind Symphony as the Principal Hornist, serve as the Membership Director for the Southwest District Alumni Association and as a Curriculum Advisor for Kappa Kappa Psi.
