The 2022-23 school year begins my 15th year at Whitewright ISD and my 16th year in education. Teaching 8th grade US History is my academic assignment. Also, I coach 7th and 8th girls volleyball, basketball, and track, and high school track. For the 2013-14 and the 2019-2020 school years, I was awarded the Whitewright Middle School Teacher of the Year.
I was raised in Whitewright and attended Whitewright Schools all my life. My collegiate playing experience includes 2 years of basketball at Grayson County College and one year at the University of Texas at Arlington. I graduated from Tarleton State University in 1996 with a degree in Human Resource Management. I received my 4-8 Social Studies teaching certificate from Collin County Alternative Teaching Certification program in 2007.
I have four wonderful children: Tyrone (first year coach at Tom Bean ISD), and his beautiful wife Taylor (Media Specialist at Denison ISD); Zada who is a graduate assistant for the track program at West Texas A&M University where she will be working on her Masters in Athletic Administration; and Jeremiah who will be attending Grayson County College. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, reading, and watching sports.
